November 15, 2010 – On a weeekend with only five SECHC teams in action, the Florida Gators took control of the East division after sweeping South Carolina. Arkansas also sweeped Ole Miss to move up into the top spot of the West Division, jumping Alabama and Ole Miss.
The Florida Gators (7-2-0, 5-0-0 SECHC) entered the weekend tied with South Carolina (4-7-0, 3-3-0 SECHC) atop the East Division standings with six points. After defeating the Gamecocks 10-1 on Friday night and 11-4 Sunday afternoon, the Gators moved into sole possesion of first place and are in the drivers seat for the East Division regular season championship.
The magic number for the Gators to earn atleast a share of the SECHC East is now four points. Both South Carolina and Georgia (3-6-0, 0-3-0 SECHC) can still get 14 points if either team wins out in the remainder of their conference games. Tennessee (4-11-0, 2-6-0 SECHC) is out of contention.
The Ice Vols traveled to Georgia Tech this weekend, to play against the Yellow Jackets Friday night. Tennessee was looking to put together a win streak after ending a 10-game skid with two wins last week at Ole Miss. However, the Ice Vols dropped its lone game on the weekend 9-5.
Arkansas (13-4-0, 4-1-0 SECHC) entered the weekendin third place in the West Division standings, two points behind Alabama (8-6-0, 3-1-0 SECHC) and Ole Miss (5-6-0, 3-4-0 SECHC). After defeating the Rebels 5-3 on Friday night and 11-3 Saturday night, the Razorbacks leaped the Frozen Tide and Rebels into first place in the West.
