The South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference names Peter Kacer this week’s SECHC Player of the Week recipient after an outstanding performance in the Georgia Ice Dogs game at Tennessee and on the road at Louisville.
In the game against the Ice Vols, Kacer, a sophomore forward from Atlanta, Ga., scored a natural hat trick to help spark the Ice Dogs come from behind, 6-5 victory over Tennessee. Kacer also had an assist in the game against the Ice Vols.
The 4-point performance sparked a rally that gave the Ice Dogs n important conference opening win.
On Saturday, Kacer was apart of all three Ice Dogs goals as he scored two goals and had an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Division II Ice Cards.
As a freshman last season, Kacer was second on the Ice Dogs with 2o points, while on playing in 10 games during the second semester. Kacer scored 14 goals and had 6 assists. Three goals came on the power play, while Kacer also had a short-handed tally and only four penalty minutes.
