Rebels Sweep Green Wave In Baton Rouge

The Ole Miss Rebels (6 – 2) continued their impressive start to the season as they swept their third team of the season last weekend, the Tulane Green Wave (2 – 3).

Cody Fullinwider summoned his mile high magic in the first game on Friday night, as the sophomore forward from Golden, Colorado, needed only the first two periods to record a hat trick.

Fullinwider’s three goal night matched the entire Green Wave offensive output. Angelo Rosena, Brendan Sullivan, and Colin Knight were among the Rebel scorers as Ole Miss disposed of Tulane 10-3 in the first of the teams’ back-to-back games.

Tulane scored the opening goal on Saturday night for the second straight game but could not build on its lead. Sophomore forward Cameron Cook scored for the Rebels with four minutes to go as the teams headed into the first intermission leveled at one.

The Green Wave took the lead in the second period, but it was short-lived. Forwards Matt Obstarszyck, Michael Karay, and Fullinwider tallied three consecutive goals, leading to a Tulane timeout.

Junior defenseman Seth Palcic scored the lone goal in the third period. Ole Miss completed the sweep, defeating the Green Wave 5-2 in the second game.

The Rebels will have some time to reflect on their early-season success as they next play the Memphis Tigers, a team they have already played twice this season, on Friday, October 28th at the Mid-South Ice House.
