Georgia Tech Spirit Award

For 11-Years, my former team, Georgia Tech Hockey has held a fund raising event during their Veterans Day activities; the event raises funds for the Lieutenant Tyler Brown Scholarship Foundation. LT Tyler Brown was a GT Army ROTC Grad who was killed in action in Iraq. I was happy to attend the game vs. the University of Tampa last Saturday night and to participate in the pregame activities. This year, I presented the “Spirit Award” to GT student athlete Cole Wright. I am very proud that Georgia Tech hockey named this particular award after me and have been presenting it for 11-years. The Tyler Brown Foundation Benefit Games has raised several thousand dollars since the inception of the benefit games. Georgia Tech hockey donates 100% of all funds raised during their weekend games and all donations received to the Tyler Brown Foundation. A classy group of young men carrying on a proud tradition. Pictured with me are Spirit Award recipient Cole Wright and Carey Brown, father of LT Tyler Brown and US Army Vietnam Veteran.
