The Gamecocks of South Carolina scored a convincing win against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday 4-1.
In the first period the Gamecocks came out with a chip on their shoulder playing aggressive offense, and scoring halfway through the period off of Kerry’s Wrant rebound on the power play in front of the home crowd.
The Yellow Jackets did not let that stop their attack though, scoring just two minutes later on the power play to tie the game at one.
The rest of the period was spent in the defensive zone of the Yellow Jackets, and the Gamecocks capitalized on a one timer by Jeremy Davis with 4:23 left in the period to take the lead at 2-1.
The Gamecocks carried their momentum to the second period, which included a short-handed goal with 6:23 left in the period by Wrant.
The Gamecocks finished off strong in the third, including a goal by the standout center Andrew Swint with 11:23 left on the clock to wrap up the scoring at 4-1.
The Gamecocks defeated the College of Charleston 7-5 on Saturday to move to 4-1-1 on the season.
