Four SECHC Teams In Top 15 Of Second Rankings

December 10, 2010 – Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and Vanderbilt all remained in the top 15 of the ACHA D3 South Rankings this week. Alabama moved up to from 4 to tie Arkansas for 3rd place. Florida stayed in the 11th and Vanderbilt dropped two spots to 15th.

Arkansas (15-4-0, 4-1-0 SECHC) finds itself back in the No. 3 spot after going 4-0-0 in the last month. However, this time the team finds itself tied with SECHC-West rival Alabama, who trailed by one vote in the first rankings of the year.

Alabama (10-6-0, 4-1-0 SECHC), as mentioned, moves up from the No. 4 spot into a tie for third heading into the winter break. Alabama went 2-0-0 since the last rankings, but made enough of an impression to tie Arkansas. The two teams split their games earlier this season.

Florida (7-3-0, 5-0-0 SECHC) stayed put at No. 11 in the second rankings. The Gators swept South Carolina and went 2-1-0 in the last month. The Gators still have a pair of games against Central Florida tonight and tomorrow, before they head to the break.

Vanderbilt (7-1-1, 1-1-0 SECHC) dropped to No. 15 in the second rankings. The Commodores went 1-0-1, since the last rankings, beating D2 Louisville in OT and then tying them the following night.

South Carolina (6-6-0, 4-3-0 SECHC), like the first rankings, also recieved votes in the second rankings. The Gamecocks are back to .500 heading into the break and could make a push into the rankings in January.
