First Ever SECHC Coach’s Poll Posted

The 2015-16 hockey season is off and running and the SECHC is proud to release our first ever SECHC coach’s poll results. Arkansas & Vanderbilt are tied for the #1 position after splitting their 2-games last weekend at the Ford Ice Center. Arkansas won the Saturday night game 2-1 and Vanderbilt replied with a strong 5-0 shutout over the Razorbacks on Sunday. Florida, Georgia and South Carolina round out the top five followed by Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU and MSU. WE will conduct several more polls throughout the season leading to our final poll in mid-January, 2016. When our final poll is posted, the top 8 teams will qualify for the SECHC Playoffs to be held at the Ford Ice Center, Antioch, TN, 5-6-7 February 2016.

Special shout out to South Carolina Gamecock Hockey for enduring the dangerous mass flooding throughout the Columbia, SC area. USC had to cancel 4-games due to the flooding. We are happy to report that everyone is fine. I appreciate the coaching staff keeping me informed of the status of the players and it is a relief to know that everyone is safe.

Our rankings committee closely reviewed the records of each team and after all the votes were tabulated, our first Coach’s Poll results are:
