Commissioner’s Corner: First ACHA D3 Rankings Released

The ACHA D3 first rankings were released last week and the Arkansas Razorbacks hold down the No. 1 spot in the Pacific Region!

Arkansas celebrated with a couple more weekend wins to bring their impressive record to 16-2-0. South Carolina is ranked No. 2 followed by  Mississippi at No. 7 and Florida at No. 9 in the South Region rankings.

Alabama also received votes and is poised to make a move in the next three rankings that will be released to determine who qualifies for the two automatic bids to nationals and who qualifies for the Regionals Playoffs.

The final rankings will be released the Friday after our SECHC playoffs, which means our playoffs will have a huge impact on the rankings voting members.

When the final rankings are released, the top two teams in each of the four regions get an automatic bid to Nationals.

Teams ranked No. 3-10 will compete in their region’s Regional Playoffs in a two-day, single-elimination event. The two teams who win both of their games at Regionals advance to Nationals along with the two teams receiving the automatic bid.

Each of the four regions send four teams for a total of 16 teams participating at Nationals. The second rankings will be released Dec. 13, followed by the third rankings on Jan. 24, 2014. The final rankings will be released Feb. 14, 2014.
