Director of Media Relations and Web Design
Benjamin Dishong is entering his fourth year as the Coordinator of Media Relations and Web Design for the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference. Dishong designed the conference’s website, SECHChockey.com, and was also the lead designer of the conference’s logo.
Dishong originally became apart of the conference while working a similar position with the University of Tennessee’s hockey team starting in 2007. In the time working with Tennessee, Benjamin graduated from the university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Electronic Media.
Since coming into the conference, Benjamin has expanded the conference’s reach on the web with the integration of social media. Dishong has also developed and currently maintains websites for five teams within the conference.
Dishong currently resides in Mississippi as he works as an assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications at Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss. He is currently the contact for Statesmen and Lady Statesmen Soccer, Statesmen and Lady Statesmen Swimming and Diving. Benjamin is also the coordinator of all photography for the department.
Benjamin was a contributing reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel from 2008-10. He worked for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, of the Atlantic League, during the 2009 season in the Media Relations and Broadcasting department.
The Saint Leonard, Md. native also holds two Associate of Arts degrees from the College of Southern Maryland in Journalism and Communication. Dishong is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Sports Management.
Benjamin is an avid fan of hockey with loyalties to the Washington Capitals, as well as the Nashville Predators.
